Daniel “Dan” Amber Shull of Raleigh, North Carolina, died on November 4th, 2022 in Morrisville, North Carolina. Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on February 10th, 1967 to Daniel Sandel Shull and Alyce Carolyn Dimmick Shull, Dan graduated from Naperville Central High School, Naperville, Illinois, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry from The University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Throughout his career Dan worked in Information Technology Analysis and Support for United Airlines, Drillinginfo, The CME Group in Chicago, Illinois, ECR Software Corporation in Boone, North Carolina, and Signature Consultants in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Dan had a strong sense of empathy and spent a great deal of time trying to help others in need. In his spare time Dan loved to read fantasy and science fiction, and developed an interest in cooking later in life, always knowing which farmer had the best peaches at the North Carolina State Farmers Market. As a child and young adult, Dan played the piano and the cello, and was actively involved in orchestras throughout school. Dan loved to bowl, breaking 200 most games he played.
He was predeceased by his mother, Alyce Carolyn Dimmick Shull. He is survived by his son, Benjamin Daniel Shull of London, Ontario; daughter Emelia Rose Shull of London, Ontario; father Daniel Sandel Shull of Cary, North Carolina; brother Andrew William Shull of Durham, North Carolina; and sister Carolyn Isabelle Shull of Durham, North Carolina.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
