GARNER- Daniel Clarence Lee, Jr., 79, passed away on Thursday, December 28th. He attended Cleveland School and Campbell University, followed by service in US Air Force and NC National Guard. Dan enjoyed woodworking in his shop. He was an active member of Garner United Methodist Church and especially loved many years as a youth counselor, and his dear Chancel Choir where he was an active member in the bass section for approximately 50 years. He was also active in Garner Lions Club for many years and enjoyed maintaining their grounds. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Garner United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Dan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hazel Stevens Lee. He is survived by a son, Danny of Waynesboro, Va. and a daughter, Angela, of Garner, married to Dennis Hensley, and seven grandchildren: Isabel, Mullaney, Ezra, and Maura Lee, and Logan, Sierra, and Micah Hensley. He is also survived by his sister, Lou Lee Penny of Smithfield, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Fern Lee, and a son, Michael. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Springbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clayton and Transitions Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Garner United Methodist Church Chancel Choir or to Garner Lions Club would be appreciated.
