Daniel E. Durham, Sr.

GARNER – Daniel Efland Forrest Durham, Sr.”PaPa”, 81, died Friday at his home  with his loving daughter by his side.  A native of Orange County, he was the son of the late Lacy and Ada Hicks Durham.  He retired from Textile Processing Research (TPR) with 49 years of service and as plant manager. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Entombment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Durham Benz and husband, John of Garner; daughter in law, Connie H. Durham;  sister, Frances Durham of Hillsborough; brother Raymond Durham (Brenda) of Hillsborough; grandchildren, Chris  Howell (DeAnn), Danny Durham III (Jennifer) and Daniele Durham Kelly (Thomas) and a great-grandchild,  Carissa Howell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Cates Durham and his son, Danny Durham; sister, Charlotte and brothers. R.C. “Clifford, Carl, Marvin, Robert Lee, and Charlie Travis. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Holt and all of the office staff;  to Liberty Health Care, Lisa, Lorrie, Alice and Janet; and to a special angel, Shondra Corbett. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
