Daniel Ray Bowden

WILLOW SPRING - Daniel Ray Bowden of Willow Spring, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025. A native of Wake County, he is the son of the late, Grover and Alice Pollard Bowden.

He had a distinguished career, working at Ford Motor Company, Wicks Corporation, and Daniel G. Matthews CPA before retiring as CFO from Fidelity Bank. Outside of his career, Ray's love for dancing was unmatched, particularly enjoying round dancing, square dancing, and ballroom dancing. It was through his passion for dance that he met his beloved wife, Betty, with whom he shared many cherished moments.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1701 Bud Lipscomb Road, Willow Spring, NC 27592. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at Willow Springs Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Betty Ann Meador Bowden; daughter, Eva Nelson (Vaughn); grandchildren, Erika Nelson Schappell (Matthew), Davis Vaughn Nelson; and great-granddaughter, Whitley Clare Schappell and niece, Dawn Deanne Brown.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, David Bowden.
