FUQUAY-VARINA– David Rowe Hinman, Jr., 58, passed away on Wednesday, July 6th. Born in Pensacola, Florida, he is the son of Edith Lewis of Pensacola, FL and David Hinman, Sr. (Sandy) of LaGrange, TX. Dave loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; he had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help someone in need. He was actively involved with CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association) for many years, serving as President and Vice President of the local Chapter 129. Dave was also involved with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) for 20+ years, where he served as a Scout Master and other positions with Troop 232. In addition, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 10 years. Prior to his passing, Dave worked for Wells Fargo as a Sr. Network Engineer. His career with Wells Fargo spanned 19+ years and he was well regarded by all of his colleagues. Dave loved traveling with his wife, Tammi. They enjoyed warm-weather climates and many adventures together. He had a passion for boats and anything having to do with being on or near a body of water. Dave’s greatest accomplishment in life was becoming “Gramps.” He loved spending time with his 3 grandchildren, specifically watching his grandson, Lane, play soccer and t-ball. His granddaughter, Blakely, was the “apple of his eye” with whom he loved to share lollipops. Two months ago, he celebrated the arrival of his newest grandson, Brant, to the family. Dave leaves behind his beloved dogs, Sadie and Tinker, to whom he was a wonderful dog-dad. He was also a dad to several cats, whom he adored. Dave was a blessing to all who knew him. His smile was contagious and would light-up a room. He took pleasure in simple things, especially feeding the hummingbirds and tending to his various bird feeders. Dave loved amateur photography and enjoyed capturing special moments wherever he was. Dave lived every day to its fullest, regardless of circumstances. He will be greatly missed by his wife, many friends, family members and colleagues. “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.” Matthew 25:21 Dave’s family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17th from 2:00-4:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM following the visitation. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Tammi Hinman; sons, Anthony Hinman (Brandi) of Fuquay-Varina and Chris Hinman of Spring Lake; brother, Michael Hinman of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Lane Hinman, Blakely Hinman and Brant Hinman. The family requests that no flowers be sent for the services, but instead consider sending a memorial contribution to the Christian Motorcyclists Association, https://cmausa.org/Donate/Donate in memory of Dave. Those attending the services are encouraged to wear casual attire in memory of Dave, because as many of you could surely attest to, Dave would usually be found sporting shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops, as though he was on a beach spending time with his family.
