David Cleveland Shepherd

Durham - David Cleveland Shepherd, 51, of Durham, NC, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, April 24, 2014, surrounded by his family. David was born in Durham, NC, on Sept 20, 1962, to Nancy Oakley Shepherd and the late Cleveland Adams Shepherd. He was a 1980 graduate of Jordan High School. David had been employed for many years in the grocery business. In his earlier years, he worked at Durham Bulls Athletic Association. Besides his mother, David is also survived by his sister, Gayle S. Harrison of Goldsboro; his twin brother, Donald Adams Shepherd of Durham; his uncle, William M Oakley, Jr. of Durham; his aunt, Remona B. Shepherd of Charlotte and a special friend, Karen Anderson. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 28, at 2 PM at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2 PM at the graveside.
