David Gaddie Walters

David Gaddie Walters, 69, of Smithfield, NC, formerly of Ocean City, MD, passed away Thurs. Dec. 20 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Mr. Walters was a retired electrician/ship engineer and worked for many years in the hospitality industry in Ocean City, MD. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, carpentry, making things with his hands, and he especially loved animals. At his request, there will be no visitation or viewing. A graveside service will be held at East Hill Cemetery in Bristol, TN, at a later date. Mr. Walters is survived by his wife Barbara Walters of Smithfield; daughter Kim Hanson (Chad) of Warner Robbins, GA; son David Walters of Cambridge, MD; sisters Nancy King (Charlie) of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Sandra Cannon (Laura) of Rockville, MD; stepdaughters Kathleen Stone (Anthony) of Winston, GA, Brenda Blackman (Kelvin) of Dunn, NC, Denise Galloway (Charles) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; 14 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents David A. Walters and Helen B. Walters.
