David “Jack” Shuttleworth

October 18, 1933 — January 15, 2019

ANGIER, NC- David (Jack) Shuttleworth, 85 went to be with his Lord on January 15, 2019. Jack was born October 18, 1933, in Murray City, OH to James and Margaret Shuttleworth. He was a member of the Walnut Street church of Christ in Shawnee, an Army Veteran, and a long-time lineman for American Electric Power. Jack’s legacy was his love of coal mining and his coal mine museum in Murray City. Surviving are his high school sweetheart and wife, Mildred, of Angier, NC, formerly of Murray City, OH; daughter Cindy (Rick) Clark; son, Todd; grandchildren Patrick (Annie), Seth (Amber), and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Griffin, Brooks David, Gracen, Jace, and Braxton; and a very special sister-in-law, Sondra Shuttleworth. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Betty Kiah and Bonnie Keith; brothers James and Robert, and two, infant brothers. A memorial celebrating Jack’s life will be held at a later date at the Shawnee Church of Christ in Shawnee, OH. The family offers special thanks for the many friends who supported Jack throughout his final days with appreciation to the members of the Shawnee Church of Christ, friends, neighbors, the team members of the Veteran’s Administration of Athens and Chillicothe, OhioHealth Hospice, and Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh.
