David Messer

ANGIER - David Messer passed away on Friday. He was the son of the late Collie Oscar Messer and Bertha Surcy Messer. David proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was an accomplished mechanic working on everything from small engines, to automobiles. He was a musician who loved bluegrass music. He loved playing the guitar and singing. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with military honors. David was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Jean Messer and a brother, Charles Messer. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Rita Corte Messer; three daughters, Gail Messer Smith; Robin M. Ziko and husband Mark; Delisa Staps and husband Hans; and one step-daughter, Brenda Reismann; and one son, Robert Brennan; one sister, Margie Baker; four grandchildren, Robert Brennan, Jr., Joey Smith, David Staps and Shelby M. Staps. Visitation will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier, Monday, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
