GARNER- David Rogers Daughtry, 73, passed away on Tuesday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Born in Wake County, he was the son of the late Marvin and Kay Best Daughtry. David was a star quarterback in the mid 1960’s with Garner Senior High School. He was a former Mayor for the Town of Garner and at the time was the youngest to ever hold that position. He had a love for many things including being an avid golfer, coaching pop warner football and spending time at his beach house at Holden Beach. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 15th at 3:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. David is survived by his lifelong partner, Willa Bower; son, Dr. David Daughtry, Jr. (Carina), Kevin Daughtry (Leanne); stepdaughters, Debbie Myers (John), Julie Ervin (Steven); stepsons, Robbie Pollock (Jenny), Eddie Pollock (Carrie); ten grandchildren, Chandler, Carson, Brantley, Sawyer, Stevie, Kate, Brooke, Luke, Thad and Aiden; one great grandchild, Indie. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Daughtry.
