David Samuel Rotman

The Rotman family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of beloved father, husband, brother and son, David Rotman, at age 57, on June 15. He passed, surrounded by his family, after a tragic heart attack. Though his time on earth was cut short, he lived life fully as a loving, generous and kind hearted man.

David was born to Dr Harold and Ann Margaret Rotman of Raleigh, NC. After graduating from the North Carolina State University School of Design with a Masters Degree in Architecture, he went on to build a thriving independent architectural practice in Raleigh. While building his firm he met his wife Susan, with whom he shared two children, Hannah and Alexander who were the light of his world. David selflessly nurtured the people he loved, endlessly providing equal parts comfort, strength, humor and kindness. His open delight with his children was infectious evidence of his immense capacity for love and was a joy to witness. He made the world a safer place for his family, and he was loved deeply by them all.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives for a time of visitation at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Raleigh on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
