David Sandstrom Greene

RALEIGH- David Sandstrom Greene, 80, died Thursday. A native of Columbus Co., he was the youngest of eight children of the late Zeb Vance and Gladys Brown Greene. He retired after 27 years of service from US Supply Company and was an active member of the McCuller’s Ruritan Club and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Greene proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jane Noblin Greene; sister, Eunice Elkins, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner and at other times at the home.
