David Woodard

RALEIGH- David Woodard, 93, died Monday. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Joseph Daniel and Lillie Mae Peedin Woodard. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served his country in WWII. He retired from the NC Department of Corrections - Central Prison. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his children, Lillie P. Humphries (Rick), David D. Woodard (Elaine) and Curtis Woodard (Becky); grandchildren, Jeremy Morris, Tina Morris-Lawson, Richard Moore, Amy Gardner, Michael Woodard and Lindsay Jackson; great-grandchildren, Justin Moore, Katie and Cassidy Lawson, Leah McLeod, Jacob, Joshua and Jessica Morris, Caroline, Allyson and Madelyn Woodard, Alexis and Courtney Culbreth, Logan Jackson and two more on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathaleen Ballance Woodard. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
