Deborah Overcash Outen, 66, died Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer. She was an accomplished seamstress, who loved the beach, and devoted her life to caring for children, which was reflected by all those who simply called her “Nana.” A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 5:00 pm at Garner United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 3:30-5:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her daughters, Angie Sifford and Jeannie Davenport; son, Chris Outen and wife, Sarah, all of Garner; grandchildren, Trevor Davenport, Jaxson and Macy Outen; brother, Steve Overcash and wife, Eunice of Knoxville,TN; her best friend, Karen Cattano of Garner, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Overcash. Memorial contributions may be made to The Kay Yow Breast Cancer Fund, 5121 Kingdom Way, Ste. 305, Raleigh, NC 27607.
