Debbie Parks Buttrum

Debbie Ruth Parks Buttrum, 90, passed away October 5, 2021. Debbie was born July 22, 1931, to the late James Milford and Alma Blanche Anderson Parks. She was a longtime member of Mount Herman Christian Church in Garner and a current member of McCullers Community Baptist Church in Raleigh. Debbie is survived by her children, Debra Sue Batts, Charlene Denise Byrd, Donna Buttrum Wagner, and Harold Dale Acton; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Esther Parks Yuraitis and Rebecca Parks Smith; and brothers, Elton Johnson and J.P. Parks. In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Buttrum; stepson, David Lewis Buttrum; sisters, Milner Parks Gurley, and Eleanor Parks Wilson; and brothers, John Dempsey, Jimmy Ray, and Mahlon Milford Parks. A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at 2:30 pm at McCuller’s Community Baptist Church, 133 Rand Rd., Raleigh, NC 27603. Burial will follow at Mount Herman Christian Church, 8925 White Oak Rd., Garner, NC 27529. The family will receive friends at the church at 1:30pm prior to the service at McCuller’s Community Baptist Church.
