Dee Orville Lineberry

Dee O. Lineberry, 93, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Rossbach Lineberry, father Edgar Lineberry, his mother Mary Baker and step-father Benjamin Baker. Dee was born in Liberty, NC on June 9, 1927. When his mother married Benjamin, they moved to Benjamin’s home in Monroville PA. Dee met his wife Mabel in Wilkinsburg, and they were married in June of 1949. They were married for 67 years before her passing in 2016. Dee joined the Navy in 1945 and was stationed on the USS Lake Champagne. Upon leaving the Navy, he attended NC State for two years. He and Mabel relocated to Raleigh in 1949. Dee was an owner and manager of State Office Equipment Company for many years. He was a member of Willian G. Hill Masonic Lodge in Raleigh and was the Master of the Lodge in 1969. He was a long time member of the Lion’s Club. Dee and Mable enjoyed taking the family skiing and boating on Kerr Lake every weekend during the summer months. Dee and Mabel also had a passion to travel. They spent most of one year pulling a camper and exploring the United States form the East Coast to the West Coast. During their retirement years they spent many winters in Florida at their condo in Arcadia Florida. Dee also was an avid bird carver. Many of his carvings are cherished by his children and grandchildren. Dee is survived by his three children; son, Bill Lineberry (Debbie); daughter Sheila Penny; son, Jim Lineberry (Connie); grandchildren, Paige King (James); Drew Lineberry (Brittney); Cameron Penny (Ashley); Michelle Mills (Blake); Keith Lineberry (Monica); Bret Lineberry (Ariel); and 9 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Raleigh Memorial Park.
