Dell Matthew Smith

Dell Matthew Smith, 81, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Born on March 8, 1943 in Hollywood, CA to the late Eugene Page and Edna Desrosiers Smith, Dell was raised in Stratford, CT. He proudly served his country as an officer in the US Army and was deployed in Vietnam. He enjoyed bird watching, baking bread, manning the grill, and, in his younger days, sailing with his family on the Long Island Sound. Dell was the owner and operator of Winsted Auto Center, in Winsted, CT for nearly 20 years, where he became well known and well liked in the community.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 4PM ath the JC Raulston Arboretum, 4415 Beryl Road Raleigh, NC 27606.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Dell is survived by his wife, Linda Smith; children, Adam Smith, Robyn Adams and husband, Jeffrey, and Laura Mikesell and husband, Tony; and grandchildren, Juliette, Fio, Henry, and Sebastian.

In addition to his parents, Dell was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Williams and a brother, Eugene Paul Smith.
