Dellon "Dell" Hoyle Holt

Dell Holt, 86, of Garner, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a sudden illness.

Dell was born in Morganton, N.C. and later moved to Raleigh to attend King's College. Shortly afterwards and while working for Walker Martin, he met the love of his life and future wife of 63 years, Carolyn. He later worked for G.E. Corporation before starting his business, Holt's Warehousing, Inc., which he owned for 27 years.

Dell was a proud volunteer fireman with Fairview Fire Department for over 25 years. He enjoyed many years of beach trips to Surf City, fishing, and traveling with the Carolina Cardinal RV club. He thoroughly enjoyed all the friendships he had over the years, which continued until his passing.

Dell was pre-deceased by his father, Hubert Holt, his mother, Viola Ritchey Holt, and most recently his son, Randy Holt. Dell is survived by his wife, Carolyn Holt; his son, Gary Holt and his wife; sister, Carolyn Knight and beloved grandkids and great-granddaughter. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home 1200 Benson Road, Garner NC 27529. Funeral will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park 2911 S Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Transitions Life Care (Hospice), Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Lymphoma Research Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
