Denise Barefoot Blake

GARNER - The most beautiful souls live on long after their physical form can no longer contain their strength, and as we remember the life of Denise Barefoot Blake who transitioned peacefully on February 15th, 2021 at the age of 47 we celebrate all she brought to those who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. A passionate mother of two daughters, Jordan and Taylor Blake, there were no bounds to what Denise would do to make sure her children felt adored, appreciated and nurtured as they grew into successful women who themselves are making the world a better place and, in turn, continuing their mother’s legacy of selflessness. As loyal of a spirit as this world has ever seen, her marriage to Robbie Blake was one steeped in commitment that stretched back to their youth, and was unyielding to any challenge they might have faced in their decades together. Always one to be the luminescence in any room she entered, Denise made sure everyone around her was smiling, and wouldn’t hesitate to unleash her wonderfully goofy nature and sense of humor on-demand guaranteeing laughs and an amazing time. Nothing brought Denise more joy than being a steady and caring hand for her family, always the first to offer advice to all who’d listen, and forever at the ready when they called. As the firstborn child of Jerry and Janice Barefoot, she blazed a trail of love right into their hearts and likely taught them as much as they taught her, and all while being the best big sister Caroline Barefoot could ask for; and an aunt both Xavier and Kaydence couldn’t get enough of from the moment they were born. So as we say goodbye, we do so knowing this isn’t goodbye at all, but instead hello to the permanence of her legacy one that will echo through all who knew her, and all they’ll come to meet as they directly and indirectly share the beauty she gave them while here into forever. The visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18th from 3 - 6 pm. No family will be present during this time. The funeral service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh on Friday, February 19th at 2 pm.
