MULLINS, S.C. - Denise Coulbourne was born 11/22/1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was the oldest daughter of a family of four. She lived an adventurous childhood as a military kid traveling the world with her parents, Ralph & Thelma Coulbourne. From Hawaii to Germany, finally setting in North Carolina. She graduated from Sanderson High School, Raleigh, NC. Following her parents into retirement, they moved to Valdese, NC and Denise followed. This is where Denise met her 1st husband Doug Brittain. She had two children, Jeremy and Samantha Brittain, who were born in Morganton, NC. Denise moved on in life with her kids, moving to Atlanta, GA and then settling back in Raleigh, NC years later. She worked her life as a medical transcriber until retirement, which she then moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. Later marrying, shortly to Keith Dawes. She finished her life as a Loving and Devoted mother and grandmother to Logan, Morgan, Kaylyn and Ethan, which she will always be remembered as “Grandma Neise.” Denise was a Southern Baptist and read the bible daily. She loved Jesus, practiced religion daily and let everyone know they should do the same. Denise passed suddenly on 12/21/2021 at the age of 67. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Fellowship Community Cemetery in Angier, 3186 Old Fairground Rd, Angier, NC 27501.
