Dennis Eugene Freeland

Dennis E. Freeland died on Fri., Aug. 13, 2021 at the age of 58 while being treated at Select Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC, from injuries sustained during an automobile accident that had taken place on May 26, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Anabela Freeland, his father, William Eugene Freeland, and his two brothers, Robert Edward Freeland and William Lee Freeland. Dennis will be fondly remembered by his friends and family as a person who was kind and genuine, bright and creative, and loving, loyal and generous – a person who dedicated his life to creating solutions which benefited others. As an architect, Dennis had a career focused on design projects which provided resources to people from all walks of life – spaces for learning and innovation, for cultural connection, and for healing and wellness. In his private life, he enjoyed painting, music making and composition, woodworking, jewelry making, furniture restoration, and gardening. The viewing of his body will be held this upcoming Mon., Aug. 16, 2021 between 6pm and 9pm and Tues., Aug. 17, 2021 between 9am and 12pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home located at 831 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC, 27604.
