Dennis Ray Wilson

GARNER- Dennis Ray Wilson, Sr., 93 passed away WednesdayMay 30, 2012.He was born in Jefferson, NC and was the adopted son of Gus and Sarah Wilson. He enlisted in the US Army in September 1937 and was assigned to the mule artillery. He served in WWII and the Korean War. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in September 1961 with 23 years of service. He then worked for the State of NC as Director of Food Services at Dorothea Dix Hospitaland retired after20 years. He was also served on various civic boards for the Town of Garner and the State of NC. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2 PM at Garner United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the serviceat the church. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Dorothy Plummer Wilson. Sons Dennis II and wife Mavis of Manchester, Ga, Charles and wife Vicki of Greensboro, Kenny and wife Vicki of St. Petersburg, Fl, Scott and wife Peggy of Apex, and Tim and wife Laura of Raleigh. Grandchildren Wanda and Tony Wilson, Chris and Hal Wilson and Leah and Dennis Wilson III. Great grandchildren Chase Burrows, Sarah Graham, Lanie Gray Wilson,Gabriella Barrick, and Samuel Maxwell.
