Dennis Wayne Ennis

April 13, 1951 — January 31, 2025

It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of our dear father and brother, Dennis

Wayne Ennis, 73, of Raleigh, NC. He passed away peacefully on January, 31 2025.

Dennis was born to Tom and Zula Ennis in Raleigh, NC. He graduated from Garner

High School in 1969 and went on to study business at East Carolina University.

After graduating from the School of Business, he returned to the family business, Ennis

and McGee Produce. He took over the family business when his father passed away,

much too soon. Dennis was known for his incredible work ethic where he dedicated his

life to his produce business.

Dennis had an infectious smile and laugh which left a lasting impression on all those he

met. He had a unique ability to connect with people of all walks of life, leaving a lasting

impact on everyone he met. He was kind and generous, with a heart of gold and would

always lend a hand to those in need. He has given generously to many food banks and

charitable organizations over the years.

If you ever visited Dennis in his office, you likely left smiling and laughing and there was

a good chance he gave you some fruit or snacks that were always sitting on his desk. If

you were real special, you may even leave with a $2 bill. We can only imagine the

reunion he will have with his family and friends who preceded him in death.

Dennis is survived by his son Derek Ennis (Laura) of Raleigh, sister Vickie Ennis Sorrell

of Raleigh, and grandchildren Eleanor and Adaline. He will also be missed by his aunt,

niece, nephew, cousins, produce family and his beloved dog "Missy".

He was preceded in death by his father Lester Cleveland Ennis and mother Zula Coats

Ennis.

The family would especially like to thank Kenny Jones, Pedro Santos and Pablo

Susunaga for their loving care of Dennis over the last 2 years.

A time of visitation will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Bryan -

Lee Funeral Home, located at 1200 Benson Road Garner, NC. Please join us as we pay

respect to a man we all cherish.

A celebration of Dennis' life will be planned at a later date.
