Dewey H. Warren

Raleigh - Dewey Warren, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2014, after a brief illness. He was born on January 4, 1934, in Sampson County to the late Lee Alton and Liza Sina Warren. Dewey worked for Capital Area Transit from which he retired after 27 plus years of employment. He also worked with Peden Steele for 17 years prior to joining CAT. He enjoyed attending Temple of Pentecost church, gardening, walking and spending time with family.In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by four brothers; Carroll, Joe Sam, Nixon and Alton Ray Warren.Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Wetona Woodcock Warren; daughter, April Warren; sister, Sandra Strickland and husband Eddie; sister-in-law, Lena Mae Warren and granddog, Evie.The family would like to say a special thank you to all the caregivers at Rex Hospital.Visitation will be Monday, July 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC. A service to celebrate Deweys life will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at Temple of Pentecost, 2312 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh, NC.
