CLAYTON - Don Franklin Monroe, Jr., 59, of Clayton, North Carolina, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at WakeMed Raleigh Campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born Friday, March 8, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Don Franklin Monroe, Sr. and Theresa Marie Keegan Monroe. Mr. Monroe was a construction manager with Carolina Commercial Systems. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Funeral services for Mr. Monroe will be held at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, TN on Friday, May 27th at 1:00 PM. The graveside service will follow at 3 PM in Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg, TN. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Michelle Ann Nigro Monroe of Clayton, North Carolina; two daughters, Samantha Ann Monroe of Selma, North Carolina and Morgan Gwen Monroe of Clayton, North Carolina; two brothers, Shawn Monroe of Winfield, Illinois and Brian Monroe of Newburgh, Indiana; two sisters, Connie Zawisza of Melrose Park, Illinois and Barbara Vaiana of River Grove, Illinois.
