Clayton- Donald “Don/Donnie” Keith Richmond, aged 61, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones, October 15, 2022. He died after a valiant battle with prostate and bladder cancer, with full-body bone metastasis, taking him within a year of diagnosis. Don was born to Patty Richey-Moore and the late Eugene Richmond on Jan 9, 1961, in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Don lived most of his life in the Clayton/Garner area. A loving husband, father, and friend, he never met a stranger and was known for his unshakeable sense of humor. Don worked as a respected and caring nurse for 27 years, specializing in cardiovascular health, at Wakemed (3A) and Johnston Health Hospital (PCU/ICU). “Saving lives and wiping butts,” something he used to say daily before heading off to work. He enjoyed his time watching football and basketball, spending time with his family, taking rides on the boat and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Rebecca Richmond; his children Brandon Richmond, Danielle Richmond, Alexandria Richmond, Blake Richmond, Chase Richmond, and Natalie Hart-Richmond; his stepchildren, Kristin Vickery, and Andrew Vickery; and his 10 grandchildren, Stan, David, Michael, Megan, Christopher, Joseph, Brennen, Serenity, Carter, and Annalise, and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by his mother, Patty Moore, his sister, Toni Baker (Ken) and nephews, Austin Baker, and Jamie Richmond.
In addition to his father, Eugene Richmond, Don was preceded in death by brothers Bobby and Marty Richmond. He will be forever missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner.
The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful care given to Don by Dr. Ramalingham and all staff at Duke Cancer Center in Raleigh.
