Donald Lee Tew

Holly Springs - Donald “Don” Lee Tew, 72 of Holly Springs NC passed suddenly on September 13, 2018 to be with our Heavenly Father. Don was born on May 5, 1946 to the late Wilson (Woody) and Louise Tew in Durham, NC. Due to his fathers occupation in textile, he lived in several places and graduated from A. C. Flora High School in Columbia, SC. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army where he reached the rank of Lt. Colonel. Don furthered his studies at Guilford College and High Point University obtaining his Masters. He was part of several organizations including Millbrook Masonic Lodge, Past Master of Masters Lodge, member of Scottish Rite, past member of Wake County Shriners Club, and American Legion in Apex. Don was an optician having worked at Lenscrafters, Sams Club Optical, Target Optical and recently at Wal-Mart Optical in Apex,NC. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Tew. A Celebration of Life will be October 6, 2018, 11:00 am at Garner Church of Christ where he was a member. The church is located at 1364 Benson Road (Highway 50), Garner, NC. Family and friends will receive visitation after the service and other times at the home. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Deborah (Debbie) Jones-Tew, son Clifton Tew of Winston-Salem, NC, Daughter Heather King (Brian) Clemmons, NC, step-daughters Melissa McDaniel (Mark) Cove City, NC, and Carolyn Noel Todd (Danny Ray) Greenville, NC and grandchildren Tyler Jarvis, Devin McDaniel, Averie and Mason King, and Bryson Todd. His love for people carried over to others who called him Dad and Grandpa Don. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Garner Church of Christ, P. O.
