Born in Olean NY, Don spent his early years in San Diego Ca, Raleigh NC, and finally, Pensacola Fl where he learned to fly small planes and graduated from high school. While surfing the beaches of NC and beyond, he graduated in Business/Accounting from NCSU. He joined the army in 1967, and served in Pohl-Gons Germany as Sergeant for Headquarters Co. 3rd Armored Division until 1971. Upon leaving the military, he worked for the NC Division of the American Cancer Society, and later retired as comptroller for Sound Trax Recording Studio in Raleigh. Don is survived by his wife of 30 years, Willie; his daughter Rebecca Moye & her husband, Dave; his grandchildren Lauren, Stone & Palmer; his siblings Nancy Hannah, Robert & Richard Stone, Jeff Daniels, & T.J. Richie; his nephew Mike Hannah & niece Suzy Bryan, & their children. Willie’s cousin, Wanda Penninger, & her children & grandchildren are also much loved family. Don’s kind spirit will be remembered always. His incredible stories will forever be told and retold by loved ones.
