Donald Michael Call

Donald Michael Call, 65, entered heavens gates surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 16th. A Garner resident, he was the son of the late Richard “Bud” William Call and Ruby Doris Parrish.

He was a devoted husband to Tammy Jo Call for 47 years. While Donald had only 2 biological children, he was known as “Dad” and “Papa” to many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He loved his days on Lake Gaston spent with family. Donald was an automotive technician for Bob Bass Jeep/AMC, David O’Neal Inc., and Leith Inc. for 46 years. He enjoyed his time watching NASCAR and spending many seasons working at the local Wake County Speedway. He was a jack of all trades and the rock of our family. He will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 11:00 a.m. at The Capital Church in Garner. Burial will follow the services at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at The Capital Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy J. Call; son, Michael A. Call and wife, Kimberly of Raleigh; daughter, Amanda M. Perry and husband, Bobby of Garner; grandchildren, Stephen Perry of Louisburg, McKenna Call of Raleigh, Ashlyn Perry of Garner, Jaxson Call of Raleigh, and Kristyn Perry of Garner, Kennedy Fleming of Raleigh; brothers, Richard Call and Ronald Call of Raleigh and sister, Cindy Krutch of Fuquay Varina, along with many very special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris “Elaine” Jones, Shirley “Pat” Hicks, and Terri Pearce; Mother-in-law, Jaqueline “Jack” Truelove; Sister-in- law Terri Laurie; and niece Kristi Capri.

The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful care given to Donald by Heartland Hospice Care of Wake County.
