Donald Pope Parker

Donald Pope Parker, 79, passed away on his birthday, November 1, 2024, in Garner, NC. Born on November 1, 1945, in Wilmington, NC to Walter and Eva Parker, Donald grew up in Johnston County.

Donald served honorably in the US Navy in the 1960's and spent most of his career working for Nortel as a buyer. He was a voracious collector of watches, pens, pocket knives and had a shoe collection to rival any high-end shoe store!

He is survived by his daughter and her fiancé, Andi Parker Whitley and Jason Poole, his son and daughter-in-law Donnie and Lisa Parker; and grandsons, Colby Parker, Parker Whitley, and Drake Parker. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Danieley Parker.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner. Those wishing to honor Donald's memory can send donations to the Garner Optimist Club, PO Box 702, Garner, NC 27529.
