GARNER - Donald Ray Dean, affectionately known as “GoldDuck” or “Square D”, 76 of Garner, NC entered into his Heavenly Home on January 16, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born to Ervin Elva Dean. Donald was Licensed in Heating Air Conditioning owned and operated Rescom Service Co. for over 50 years. He was a jack of all trades and a master of many. August 6, 1965, he married Kay McGee. They had one son Donald Mark Dean. He was a member of McCuller’s Community Baptist Church. His passion was music, writing singing Gospel Songs. He had a God-given talent in playing piano and many musical instruments. He was a tenor singer with the Foundations Quartet Heart Song. He was frequently asked to sing at numerous weddings, funerals and special occasions. He had many enjoyable years at his Harker’s Island beach house. He loved floundering, fishing and riding jet skis with his family. His favorite hobbies included Nascar Races, camping at Camping World, boating trips, mountain trips, camping with family friends at Ocean Lakes, riding his Polaris at Busco Beach , Carolina Adventure World, SC Hatfield McCoy , West Virginia. Great memories with Woo Pow Group made up of family friends and camping in Boone with their four-wheel drive vehicles. He also Enjoyed riding go carts and golf carts with family, dune buggies, motorcycles, Trikes, and his latest Polaris Sling Shot rides with his wife, son daughter in law. Bucket List trip of his lifetime was a motorcycle ride out West with family. They all received their prestigious Iron Butt Award. Traveled many enjoyable miles on motor homes with family friends. Restored his El Camino 1966 Chevy Impala Super Sport. He was known for his kind, compassionate giving Spirit. He loved blessing others. He is survived by his wife, Kay McGee of 55 years; son, Mark (Donna); brother, Dwayne (Christine); grandchildren, Thomas Morris, April Creech (Adam); great grandchildren, Kynlee Cason. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Arlynne Presley; brothers, Horace Harold Dean and sister, Brenda Dean Langdon. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at McCullers Community Baptist Church, 133 Rand Rd. Raleigh, NC 27603. Burial will follow at Mt. Herman Christian Church Cemetery.
