Donald Williams

Donald F. Williams, 95, died at Wake Medical Center on Saturday.  Mr. Williams was born in 1920 in Wake County and was the son of the late Fred J. and Gertrude T. Williams. He served honorably during World War II in the Army Air Corps from 1942-44 and attended Wake Forest University in Wake Forest, NC. He met the love of his life, Dorothy Elizabeth Oldham and they married on Jan.5, 1948.  Mr. Williams was employed at Thompson Cadillac-Olds for 47 years and was the firm’s Fleet Manager upon his retirement.  Mr. Williams was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Debby Williams Harris; son, Daryl Frank Williams; grandchildren, Jason S. Harris; Jody R. Harris and wife Alicia; and Justin W. Harris and wife Connie.  He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Susie H. Williams of Rolesville. He was predeceased by his brother, F. J. Williams, Jr. of Rolesville and sister, Dorothy W. Johnson of Greensboro. A memorial service will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC, at 2:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Temple Baptist Church, 1417 Clifton St., Raleigh, NC, 27604.
