JULY 2, 1955 - SEPTEMBER 17, 2012FUQUAY-VARINA - Donavon Lee Matthews, 57, of 500 Ashewyck Commons Ct. passed away on Monday. A native of Harnett County he is the son of Patsy Adams Matthews of Angier and the late Bobby Joe Matthews. He was a graduate of Angier High School, a member of Angier Baptist Church and a veteran of the U S Army.In addition to his father he was predeceased by his brother, Stephen.The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Angier Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Wanda Matthews Melanson and husband, Peter of Peyton, CO; brothers, David Matthews and wife Valerie of Fuquay-Varina; Eric Matthews and wife, Laura of Angier; nieces and nephews; Nicholas, Savanna, Roman, Alexandra, Kaitlyn and Sophia Matthews. Donnie lived a simple life but it was always filled with his hearty laugh and 'I loveyous' for his family. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
