Donna Blevins Journey

MAR. 14, 1945 - SEPT. 26, 2011 ANGIER -Donna Blevins Journey, 66, passed away at Rex Hospital Monday after a short illness. A native of Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Doyle Maynard and Willie Mae Ruth Watson Blevins. She was born in Athens, TN, and moved to Chattanooga, TN, where she lived until her marriage to James Craig Journey. For the past fifteen years she and her husband have made Angier, NC their home. Donna loved volunteering and was a volunteer at Rex Hospital for seventeen years. She also taught Womens Bible studies and Bible studies in nursing homes. She taught fifth grade Sunday school at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church where she was an active member. Her love of the Lord and people gave her a great ministry. In addition to her husband of forty seven years, Craig, she is survived by her daughter Melanie Askew and her husband, Mike, of Garner, sisters, Audra Howard and husband, Jim, of Chattanooga, TN; Belinda Moss and husband, B. J, of Columbia TN; grandchildren, Alex, Caleb, and Noah Askew, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral in Garner with Rev. Timmy Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier and other times at the home..
