RALEIGH - Donnie L. Bowen, Jr., 64, dearly loved husband, father & grandpa went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, August 2ndat the Hospice Home of Wake County, after a short illness. Funeral service will be Saturday, 2pm at Mid-Way Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Friday 6-8 pm at Mid-Way Baptist Church. Donnie is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Lynn McKenzie Bowen; children, Pamela Yancey, Summer Adams and husband Dustin of Raleigh and Donnie L. Bowen, III of Colorado Springs, Co., grandchildren, Jackson Adams and Timothy Yancey; brothers and their wives, Jerry (Kaye), Melvin (Dell), Billy Bowen; sisters and their husbands, Ruth (Harold) Hester, Orabelle Martin, Doreen (Robert) Ferguson and Lucille (Mitchell) Hatfield, all of Georgia; brother-in-law Ken McKenzie and wife, Betsy of Raleigh; and many loved nieces and nephews.
