Heaven just became a little sweeter this week. On Tuesday, August 10th, Ms. Donnie McLeod went home to be with the Lord. After a long battle with illness her faith became sight at 7:00 am that morning. She has now joined the many that she loved who have gone on before her including her precious husband, her parents, four sisters, one brother, and many other loved ones and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Matthews, (husband Jerry), her daughter Jerrie Farmer, her daughter Tabatha Tutor (husband Carl), and nine grandchildren including Marlena Simpkins (husband Jim), Selena Young (husband Josh), Lindsey Mills (husband Scott), Chase Farmer (wife Amber), McKensie Watts (husband Jackson), Caleb Tutor (wife Heather), Kendal Myers (husband Jonathan), Mckala Tutor and Katelyn Tutor. Also were ten greatgrandchildren including Cody Corbett (wife Haylee), Trinity Corbett, Tori Simpkins, Lincoln Young, Reagan Young, Fallon Mills, Payton Mills, Ava Hart, Watson Tutor and other close family members and loved ones; Kris Corbett, Christopher Perry and Roscoe Williams. She is also survived by two precious children yet to be born…one great-grandson, baby Watts, and one great-great-granddaughter, Evelynn Faith Corbett,.Sisters; Judy Byrd, Itha Byrd (Evet), Caroline Champion (Roy), Brenda Harper (Manford) and Cherry Hoyer (Paul). Ms. Donnie was a very special woman to all who knew and loved her. She opened her heart to all she met with a beautiful smile, outgoing personality and encouraging spirit. She loved her Lord, her family and her church more than words could express. Until her illness wouldn’t allow it, she faithfully attended Hilltop Church in Fuquay, which started in her and her husband’s basement almost 55 years ago. She was a choir member, singer of special music, Sunday School teacher and soul winner throughout all her Christian life. Her only true hobby was yard work. She loved flowers and working in her beautiful yard, which was the location on many occasions for several wedding portraits and graduation pictures. She would gladly allow others to use her home for such events, never taking a penny for this sweet service. She was just that kind of woman…loving, caring, giving and uplifting. Guests will be received at Hilltop Church, 10212 Fayetteville Road in Fuquay, on Sunday, August 15th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Her funeral service celebrating her amazing life will follow at 6:30 pm. Flowers should be sent to Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner, NC. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
