MAY 10, 1929 - DECEMBER 10, 2011GARNER - Doris Champion Walters, 82, died Saturday at WakeMed, Cary..A native of Wake Co. she was the daughter of the late Carey C. Champion and Clyde Champion Perdue.Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, at Garner United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Surviving; sons, Eddie Walters and his wife, Donna of Raleigh and Mickey Walters and his wife, Pat of Willow Spring; daughter, Pam Penny of Raleigh; grandchildren, Tony Walters, Jill Witmer, Pamela Walters, Chris Penny, Brian Penny and Leigh Anne Penny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward V. Walters, Jr. in 2010 and her son-in-law, Mike Penny in 2011.The family will receive friends Wednesday 10:00-11:00 AM at the church, 1 hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of Pam Penny, 1501 Pagan Road, Raleigh, NCMemorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. 400 Oberlin Road, Room 220.
