Angier – Doris Partin Matthews, 84, died Thursday. A native of Johnston County she was the daughter of the late Delmas and Nolie Ashworth Partin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Matthews; sister, Hilda Carroll; brothers, Benjamin “Odell” Partin and Bennie Partin. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, Angier. Burial will follow at Sandy Grove Cemetery, Angier. Surviving is her daughter, Ann Smith of Angier; sister, Joyce McGee of Angier; brothers, Ronnie Partin and wife, Susan of Angier, Hershell Partin and wife, Martha of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Cynthia Chuta and husband, Bayron of Angier, Tim Holland and wife, Sharon of Angier, Graham Holland II of Angier; great-grandchildren, Josiah Chuta, Ethan Holland, Olivia Dupree; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 - 8:00 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home of Susan and Ronnie Partin. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, 4440-A Piney Grove Rd. Angier, NC 27501 in Doris’s memory.
