Doris Sauls Davis

Doris Sauls Davis, 93, of Raleigh, passed away on July 19, 2018. Born in Wake County she was the daughter of the late Joseph Toy Sauls and Mattie Mangum Sauls. She was a secretary for 41 years with the Dept. of Revenue. She loved her family spending many days taking her children and grandchildren to museums, parks, the beach, horseback riding and skating. She is survived by her daughter Faye Dixon and husband Milton of Raleigh; sister, Thelma Dickens of Fuquay Varina; grandchildren, Shelia Scott, Lori Kelly, Jason Dixon and Wendy Bass; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, David Whitehead and an infant brother. The family is very grateful for the love and care that was provided by her caregivers, Brenda and Raymond Lawson for many years and also to many friends. Graveside funeral rites will be held 2:00 pm Friday, July 27, 2018 at Historic Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road from 12:30 until 1:45 pm prior to the service.
