Doris Scoggin Hutchins

GARNER- Doris Virginia Scoggin Hutchins, 96, died Monday. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Gyrtie Scoggin and Alma Veda Fish Scoggin. Doris was an active member of Aversboro Road Baptist Church. Singing with the Joyful Noise Choir was one of her favorite activities. She was also a very talented cross stitcher. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday at Aversboro Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Surviving are her husband of 73 years, James T. Hutchins; children, Barbara Hines (Ron), James T. Hutchins, Jr. (Tina), David Hutchins, Peggy Hobbs (Bill) and Lynda Hutchins-Amorese (Phil); brother, Robert W. Scoggin; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her sister, Marie S. Norris survived her by one day. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Dan Scoggin.
