RALEIGH – Dorothy Beamon Pope passed away peacefully on Christmas Day. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-1:30 pm prior to the service. Her husband of 67 years, Clarence, preceded her in death in July 2009. Clarence and Dorothy Pope are survived by their three daughters, Lynn Crawford and husband Wayne, Carol Tyson, and Jo Anne Harper and husband Cliff, all of Raleigh. The four grandchildren are Suzanne Kozak and husband Don, of Raleigh, Ben Crawford and wife Jenn of Belmont, Kenneth Tyson and wife Brooke of Greenville, Marlowe Hufland and husband Peter of Wake Forest. She enjoyed five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by one sister, Reba Barwick of Seven Springs.
