Dorothy “Dot” Ragsdale Dejarnette

GARNER – Dorothy “Dot” Ragsdale DeJarnette, 87, was carried away safely to heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday.  Dot was married to Gordon DeJarnette for 66 years, when he too, went to be with Christ on August 28, 2013. Dot is survived by two sons and their wives, Shelby Gordon DeJarnette (Alease) and Randy Givens DeJarnette (Susan) and a sister, Phyllis Moody (E.B.) One of Dot’s greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren, DJ, Daniel (Sarah), Jennifer and Kristyn.  She was also blessed to have five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ivy, Lucas, Micah and Julianna.  Dot served her Lord faithfully through her church, Highland Baptist. She and Gordon traveled throughout the United States with friends as the Garner Travelers.  Dot was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. A Graveside Service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of The Laurels of Forest Glen for their care during the final years of Dorothy’s life.
