Dorothy Hedgepeth Matthews

ANGIER – Dorothy Hedgepeth Matthews, 95, passed away on Tuesday at Pinecrest Gardens Assisted Living in Lillington. Born in Nelson County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Tommie and Annie Hayes Hedgepeth.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The burial will follow the service at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm at the funeral home.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Stephanie Morgan of Angier; great grandson, Lane Morgan of Angier; brother, Elvin Hedgepeth of Willow Spring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Matthews, Sr.; son, Robert Ray Matthews, Jr.; sister, Ruth Ann Lambert; brothers, James Hedgepeth, Claude Hedgepeth, and Roy Hedgepeth.
