Dorothy June Christian

Raleigh- Dorothy June Bernard Christian, 72, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on October 25, 2022, after her third battle with breast cancer.

June is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Julian and Dorothy Souders Bernard; her two half-brothers, Lester and Donald Bernard; and her brother-in-law, Joseph J. Hinds, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Christian; two sisters, Ann B. Hinds and Linda B. Boretsky; brother-in-law, Stephen Boretsky; 7 nephews, Joseph J. Hinds, III, Michael Boretsky, Patrick Boretsky, Ernst Bernard, Mark Bernard, Donald Bernard, Jr., and Robert Jones; 5 nieces, Stephanie Boretsky, Julianne Boretsky, Melody Bernard Wireman, Beth Bernard Lucas, and Barbara Bernard Jones; and her great nephew, Joseph J. Hinds, IV.

A celebration of June’s life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Garner, Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive family and friends following the celebration of life at a reception in the Fellowship Hall.

In honor of her memory, the family is encouraging everyone to wear brighter colors for the celebration, especially purple, as it was June’s favorite color.

Any condolence cards may be sent to the church directly. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, June requested that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Garner, American Cancer Society, or the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Relief Program.
