Dorothy Lawrence Mann

APEX – Dorothy Lawrence Mann, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Wake County on November 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Irving E. Lawrence and Gladys A. Lawrence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Truman Mann; and her brothers, Dr. Irvin Lawrence, Jr. and Albert Lawrence.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Jean M. Higgins and husband, Jesse of Apex, Betty M. Phillips and husband, Joel of Apex; sons, Lawrence T. Mann, Jr. and wife, Linda of Raleigh, Steve Mann of Apex; sister, Marie Beasley of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jessica Link and husband, Kevin, Jacquelyn Yanik and husband, Luke, Austin Higgins and wife, Kris, Seth Higgins; step-grandchildren, Macy Bruner and husband, Jay, Morgan Fowler and husband, Bobby; and her step-great grandchildren, Lennon Bruner, Hayden Fowler, and Ellis Fowler.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks and appreciation to their mother’s caregivers, Wanda, Barbara, Sheree, Sherri, Amy, and Asher; and the staff of 3HC Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion shown to their mother during her illness.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Catawba Springs Christian Church in Apex. Burial will follow in the Sorrell Family Cemetery, Apex. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church prior to the service, from 9:30-11:00 AM.
