Dorothy Stephenson Edgerton

ANGIER – Dorothy Stephenson Edgerton, 81,. passed away on Wednesday at her home. A native of Johnston County she was the daughter of the late Furman and Vada Wiggins Stephenson. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Bryan Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 after the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Community Cemetery. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Bobby Edgerton in 1999. Surviving are her daughter, Sarita E. Deans of Angier; son Kevin C. Edgerton and wife, Rhonda of Mars Hill; grandchildren, Ryan S. Deans and wife, Tara of Raleigh; Amber D. Halley and husband, Darrell of Middlesex; Lori D. Jordan and husband, Jason of Garner; Leeana E. Foster and husband, John of Rougemont; Meredith R. Edgerton of Washington, DC; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Nate and Taryn; sisters, Neta S. Dixon and husband, Joe, Helen S. Stephenson and husband, Gene all of Angier; and numerous nephews, great nephews, great nieces; and a second cousin that was like a granddaughter, Crystal B. Gregory.
