Dr. Ray Dawkins, Jr.

Coats- Dr. Ray Dawkins, Jr., 68, passed away on Sunday at his home. Born in Fayetteville, NC, he was the son of the late Jennings Ray Dawkins, Sr. and Louvertal Floyd Dawkins. A graduate of North Carolina State University and Duke Medical School, he completed his internship at Ohio State University where he met his wife, Patti. He had a long career in in pharmaceutical research and was enjoying his retirement along with his two beloved pet cats. He was a good Christian husband, father, grandfather, family man, and friend. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Friday, February 18th at 1:00 PM in the visitation room of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. A private burial will take place later at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. Ray is survived by his daughter, Bethany Myers and husband, Adam of Huntersville, NC; grandsons, Carter and Coen Myers of Huntersville, NC; sister, Cynthia Griffith and husband, Joe of Beaufort, NC. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years in 2020, Patricia R. Dawkins.
