Angier- Drexdal Ray Pratt, 67, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 3rd, following a brief but hard-fought illness. Born in Stokes County, he was the son of the late Dilmer Ray Pratt and Ineida Fulk Pratt. Drexdal's long career in health services began by volunteering at the early age of 16 with the King fire department. He was one of the original members of the Stokes County EMS service where he advanced to becoming a paramedic. He then served as the EMS Director of Stokes County and later became Chief of the NC Office of EMS. In 2010 he was promoted to Director of the NC Division of Health Service Regulation where he served in this role until his retirement. Even more than his work accomplishments, Drexdal will be remembered as an adoring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was fully devoted to his loving wife, Sheree and they enjoyed every second they were blessed by God to share, whether it included being on the lake, taking bike rides or just simply being together. Drexdal also loved spending quality time with his adoring children and grandchildren. Drexdal had a servant's heart and used this gift in many roles throughout his life. He was serving as the current president of the Angier Kiwanis Club and enjoyed volunteering for the Angier Food Bank. He loved his Lord and was a faithful servant who helped teach the Tuesday Weekday Warriors Sunday School class and was a member of the church security team. He was always willing to help others whenever needed. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 7th at 12:00 pm at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 4632 NC 66 King, NC 27021. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, August 15th at 2:00 pm at Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8891 NC 27 E, Benson, NC 27504.
