Plum Branch, SC- Earl Lee Ramey, 73, formally of Willow Spring, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 12th at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. Earl spent most of his life in Willow Spring and was the son of the late Edward Lee Ramey and Mary Medlin Ramey. Earl served honorably in the Navy Reserves and Marine Corps and retired with more than 20 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer. In that time, he served during the Vietnam War and earned many awards, commendations and medals like the Purple Heart. A graveside service will be held at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, July 10th at 2:00 PM with military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-2:00 PM at the cemetery. Earl is survived by his wife, Tamie Ramey of Monterey, CA, daughters, Teresa Fuller and husband, Todd of Kihei, HI, Marie Thieke and husband, Alden Vega of Monterey, CA; son, John Thieke and wife, Donna of Salinas, CA; sisters, Miriam Dick and husband, Mike of Kitchener, ON, Canada, Wanda Veasey of Fuquay-Varina, Joy Hayes and husband, Johnny of Morehead City; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
