Eddie Howard Lassiter, Sr, 57, of Knightdale, died suddenly July 15, 2012. Eddie was born June 7, 1955 to Bill and Bette Lassiter in Raleigh NC.Eddie graduated from Millbrook High School in 1974. Eddie devoted his vocational life to the family business, Lassiter Presort, in which he was President.His mother, Bette C. Lassiter; son, Justin Michael Lassiter, brother John Allison Lassiter, nephew, Jonathan David Lassiter and in-laws C.M. and Margaret Lancaster preceded Eddie in death.Left to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and wife of 37 years, Tricia L. Lassiter, two sons: Eddie Howard Lassiter Jr. (wife Jaime); John Michael Lassiter (wife Laci); 7 grandchildren: Hayley Cook, Kaitlyn Lassiter, Faith Anne Cook, Eddie Howard Lassiter III, Ruthie Jane Lassiter, Ivie Lassiter and Ava Lassiter; his father, Bill Lassiter; 3 brothers: Billy Lassiter Jr. (wife Bonnie); Tim Lassiter (wife Debbie); Jeff Lassiter (wife Kenni); one sister Bette R. L. Carter (husband Tim); two sister in-laws: Debbie Currin (husband Scovill); June Lancaster and brother in-law Haywood Lancaster (wife Ann); several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.A devout UNC fan, Eddie enjoyed life by spending time with his family and friends.Eddie was propelled by love. He practiced sacrificial love by listening, helping, encouraging and giving. His lifes philosophy can be summed up in the words of Jesus in which He tells His disciples, My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. - John 15:12.Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Longview Baptist Church by Rev. Randy McKinney. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church Sanctuary. A private family burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.Eddie will always be remembered as a kind, caring man who was always willing to help others. In lieu of flowers the family would like others to pay it forward by donating to Longview Baptist Church Youth Fund, 2308 New Hope Road, Raleigh, NC 27604; or Susan G.
